The Tania Johnson Design collection of custom, contemporary, hand knotted rugs is inspired by the natural world, the way light creates shadows and reflections and the microscopic details found in nature.

Tania has a distinct style specialising in translating her textural photographs into unique, timeless designs, interpreting the beauty of nature into intricately hand knotted rugs that will last for generations. Each luxurious rug is made by artisans in Nepal using a combination of Chinese silk and Himalayan wool.

Places

The Places collection is based on Tania’s associations and memories of the places she has visited as captured through her photography. From the flow of reeds through a river in Wales to a cracked pavement in Zurich. Translated into rugs, these unique images of nature’s abstractions are woven by hand in silk and wool.

The Venezia collection was inspired by a visit to the beautiful city of Venice. Losing herself in the labyrinth of walls, Tania was inspired at every turn by the myriad of textural surfaces and the faded grandeur of crumbling palazzos.

Our handloom collection comprises of a series of simple, gradated, geometric and carved designs that are the perfect partner to our signature hand knotted collection. These are made at the same facility in Nepal using combinations of Himalayan wool and Chinese silk or bamboo.

Flatweave

Our new Flatweave collection is made by hand at the same factory in Nepal as our hand knotted and handloom collections. As with all of our rugs, our flatweaves are certified by GoodWeave, ensuring no child labour is used during the production.
